HOLLYWOOD - The power of positive thinking combined with
the correct marketing and networking techniques WILL equal success –
whether it be in Hollywood, the entertainment industry in general,
or in any occupation or endeavor, say two locally-based
entertainment executives.
Rock Riddle and Michelle Blood, both long-time entertainment
veterans, have combined their collective talents and are planning to
travel the world teaching their specific ways to achieve success,
riches and happiness in the film and television industry and beyond.
Riddle, a former pro wrestler, actor and agent, is the president
of "Actors Promotional Services," "Associated Producers Services,"
and "APS Productions." Located in Hollywood, his organization has
been promoting and marketing a limited number of actors and
actresses, as well as producers, directors, film financiers, and
entertainment attorneys for more than 25 years.
Actress Masiela Lusha currently plays "Carmen," the teenage
daughter of George Lopez on his self-titled comedy show on the ABC
television network. Lusha is but one of hundreds of current or
former APS clients who have secured starring, co-starring or
principal roles on various television shows and in motion pictures
over the last two and a half decades.
Blood, who is a professional singer, actress, songwriter, and
producer, is the creator of MusiVation - a combination of
motivational music and positive words and lyrics that together will
empower anyone to achieve all of their goals.
"MusiVation affects both sides of the brain so that the learning
process is rapidly accelerated," says Blood. "The music along with
the positive words flows directly into the subconscious mind,
without giving the conscious mind a chance to reject it."
Based in La Jolla, Blood has collaborated with many of today’s
most notable speakers including Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer,
Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Jim Cathcart and many others. Her
motivational internet television show, MpowerTV.com, is seen in more
than 50 countries where her inspirational products are sold as well.
In addition, she currently hosts three-hour and full-day,
self-empowerment seminars throughout the United States and the
world.
Riddle and Blood met one another through a mutual friend last
December at a private networking event in Studio City. They realized
the importance and urgency of bringing their type of joint,
specialized instruction to mass audiences locally, nationally and
around the globe.
"We now have two powerful forces that have come together," says
Riddle. "This industry is one of the most difficult ones in
which to succeed . . . and believe me, we are taking the ABSOLUTE
truth to the people."
Riddle is quick to acknowledge that many first-time actors are
routinely given mass amounts of misinformation by other long-term
actors. These people have been failing in show business for years,
he says, and are in turn telling others how to do the same.
One example he cites is the fact that most actors are unaware of
the producer’s specific role.
"The producer is the person who hires and fires everybody," says
Riddle. "So, it’s very simple. If an actor wants more work, all he
need do is meet more producers. We tell you how to network, what
events to attend, and we give you the tools and guidelines to make
this all happen."
While Riddle will debunk many of the myths and misconceptions in
show business, Blood will counter with powerful music, words and
advice -- all designed to overwhelm the subconscious mind into
accepting that any want or need is achievable.
"I show them how to eliminate their old belief systems of ‘I
can’t do it’ or ‘I’ll never succeed,' says Blood, to ‘Any
thing is possible’ or ‘I am a magnet to money.’"
Like two gears meshing together in a diesel engine, both know
that their combined output will have the most compelling,
life-changing affect imaginable on their audiences.
On March 7th, Blood and Riddle held their first
seminar at a conference room in downtown Hollywood where scores of
actors and other entertainment-related people were in attendance.
The four-hour event was recorded as part of a complete
multiple-DVD and CD training system package that is now available
worldwide. An interactive workbook is included to guide the
participant daily in their trek toward success.
"Above all", says Blood, "we teach them that their journey along
the way should always be happy and fun." Indeed, one
additional CD included in the package contains nothing but the sound
of children and adults laughing along with strong words of support.
"It has now been medically proven that continued laughter creates
a higher vibration in the body," she says, "which will put you in
the right mental place to attract all of the opportunities you
want."
Blood has been a gifted singer since the age of five. As an
adolescent she appeared on television and traveled Australia winning
numerous talent shows and competitions at various schools. Later as
an adult, she toured the country with several musical groups where
she mostly wrote, co-wrote, sang and produced the songs.
In 1989 she was in a near-fatal car crash as her and a friend
were returning from one of her performances in Sydney, Australia.
Blood’s body was severely crushed in the accident and she was
ferried to the hospital in critical condition.
Even if she survived, the doctors surmised that she would never
have full use of her legs and would suffer from severe physical
limitations.
During her more than two-month stay in the hospital and after two
major surgeries, Blood was still in constant pain and required heavy
sedation. At the suggestion of an aunt, Blood was encouraged to
listen to several well-known motivational speakers on cassette
tapes.
One was Earl Nightingale, which her brother Stephen had given to
her earlier. On it, Nightingale spoke of the now-famous book "Think
and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. The other speaker was Louise Hay.
"I listened to them both and was instantly hooked," she says.
Over a period of time, the constant saturation of positive words
and support would enable her to gradually make a full recovery.
Riddle was a professional wrestler during the 1970s and early
1980s and toured the country performing on live television shows and
in large arenas. Using the name "Mr. Wonderful" he would wear fancy
robes, sport blond hair and sunglasses, and project the attitude of
a bully in the ring. This was commonly known as a "heel" in the
wrestling circles.
He grappled with many of the famous wrestlers of the era
including Andre the Giant, Pat Patterson, Jerry Lawler, Ric Flair,
Harley Race, Jack Brisco, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, The Iron Sheik,
Gorgeous George Jr., Ted DiBiase and many, many more.
While touring the country in 1975 he landed in Hollywood. While
he had no acting experience, he clearly understood the concept of
marketing and promotion. This, he reasoned, could be applied
successfully anywhere.
He collected volumes of information on many of the major
producers, directors and casting directors in town. After months of
exhaustive research, he set out on acting auditions. His first
opportunity came when he was chosen for a small part alongside actor
and comedian Robin Williams.
His knowledge of the business quickly grew and over the next 2 ½
years he had starring, co-starring or principal roles with many of
today’s top actors including Sylvester Stallone, Richard Pryor,
Danny DeVito, Harvey Keitel, Yaphet Kotto and others.
Seeing his success, a few of Riddle’s acting colleagues persuaded
him to represent them on a limited basis. In 1976 he created APS and
promoted a small number of clients. In 1979, Riddle devoted his full
time to the company and to date has spent more than 100,000 hours of
his time in doing so.
